Brucellosis is a zoonosis caused by Brucella species bacteria. In human caused by ingestion of unpasteurized milk (Brucella melitensis infects goats, Brucella abortus infects cattle) or undercooked meat (Brucella suis infects swine)) from infected animals, or close contact with their secretions (Brucella canis infects dogs). Serology tests are used to clinical diagnosis of brucela infections.
